I've had a few people ask me about this image, so I thought i'd write a brief, lttle explanation (then I got a little carried away and created another slideshow showing the progression of the image.) 

At first I was trying to mess around with, and get better at using, the warp feature in PS, to turn her skin into tree bark.  As I went along, I just played around with different ideas, sort of the processing version of free-writing, I guess. I got to this point where I sort of liked where things were heading, and with no pressure from myself or a client, I just kept trying things.  Recently, I have also been playing around with printing images on top of metallic paint.  I have several papers drying right now, infact: various squares of gold, bronze, copper...  and of course I photographed the blank squares to play with later, which I did inthis image.

The first texture I used is merely a photograph of cement, blended and masked out in spots. The layer of gold is overlayed on the image and blended and masked off, as well. It isn't a simple two-step process, obviously, but you get the idea. If you want to know more, feel free to message me.
